A：Chief, I heard that a beautiful woman would be transferred from some branch today. Is that true?
B：What? Where does that rumor come from?
A：I don't know. But the rumor spread by word of mouth.

A：チーフ、今日どこかの支店から美人が転勤してくるってきいたんですけど、ホントですか？
B：何？そんな噂、どこから出たんだ？
A：わかりません。でも、口コミでひろがってますよ。

【 come across 〜 ：〜を偶然に見つける、〜に偶然に出会う】

A：How do you like this watch?
B：Oh, that's pretty good! Where did you find it?
A：I came across this at an antique shop.

A：この腕時計どう？
B：うん、なかなかいいね！どこで見つけたの？
A：ある骨董品店で、偶然見つけたんだよ？

※「〜に偶然出会う」という意味では、他に「encounter 〜」や「bump into 〜」という言い方があります
